He was named Juno Award winner for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year in 2015 for his album Keep Moving and was nominated in 2016 for Canadian Urban Album of the Year for his album At the Track. Ferris grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. At the age of 14, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he started playing guitar and making music with his friends. He graduated from the Belmont University and began playing at weddings and parties in Nashville. He performed for the first time on the national American Idol stage in the United States. In 2011, he left Nashville to travel and perform in Europe, Middle East, India, Africa and the South Pacific. In 2012, he moved back to Nashville to study music production at the Belmont University. In 2011, Ferris and his band The Good Child released his first full-length album, Flying In The Black, which was produced by well-known Australian producer Paul McKercher. Ferris toured the United States and Europe with The Good Child and performed at TED Global in Tanzania and at TEDxYouth@Nashville. Ferris released his second album "Keep Moving" in 2014. The album was produced by Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Chris K.T. Davies, who produced previous work by artists such as Alanis Morissette, Bran Van 3000 and John Paul Jones. On the same year he also worked on the album "The Big Truth" with Grammy Award winning producer Neil Finn of Split Enz fame. Ferris released his third studio album "At the Track" in September 2016. The album was produced by Grammy Award winning producer and engineer Chris K.T. Davies.
